Az utolsó fél órámat töltöm az albérletben, nemsokára itt a taxi és irány a reptér.

Fél éve tervezem ezt az utat, de még most sem hiszem el, hogy tényleg megcsinálom.

2016 év végén jutott először eszembe külföld, akkor még úgy, hogy dolgozni szeretnék valahol. El is kezdtem munkát keresni, interjúim is voltak, de aztán ahogy egyre többet gondolkoztam a dolgon, csak elszomorított, hogy egyik munkából megyek a másikba.

A munka előtti/utáni idő kevés, a hétvége mindig gyorsan elrepül, és az évi 21 nap szabadság se sokra elég. Ekkor jutott eszembe az utazás.

A családnak meséltem a terveimről és 2017. Április körül el is kezdtem szervezni. Átgondoltam, hogy mely országokat/városokat szeretném megnézni, hol mennyi időt kellene tölteni, próbáltam kijelölni egy útvonalat is. Egy idő után rájöttem, hogy kizárt, hogy mindent meg tudjak előre szervezni, így ezt el is engedtem. Csak azt találtam ki honnan akarok indulni (Barcelona), és kb. merre (délre), a többit majd idő közben.

Már ekkor nagyon utána néztem, hogy hogyan tudnám csökkenteni a kiadásaimat az utazás során. A legjobb lehetőség erre az önkéntes munka. Már Budapesten is önkénteskedtem fél évig (az FN szerkesztőségében), így ez nem is áll messze tőlem. És így azon túl, hogy sok új dolgot ki tudok próbálni, napi pár óra munkáért cserébe szállást kapok (de több helyen napi 3 étkezést is).

Nyáron pár hónapig két munkahelyen dolgoztam, hogy minél többet tudjak spórolni. Még csak megbecsülni sem tudtam előre, hogy mennyibe fog kerülni ez az utazás. Július végén megvettem a repülőjegyet, aztán el is kezdtem lezárni a pesti dolgaimat.

Augusztus elején beadtam a felmondásom, rá egy hétre pedig az albérletemet is felmondtam.

Az utolsó 1 hónapban már nem is dolgoztam, csak intéztem, amit kellett (papírok, oltások, stb.). Az utazás előtti hétvégén pedig az albérletemből is kiköltöztem.

Aztán minden fontosnak vélt dolgomat bepakoltam egy bőröndbe (75L-es, képzelhetitek), és ennyi, elindultam:)

I am spending the last half hour in my apartment, the taxi is on its way, I am going to go to the airport.

I have been planning this trip for a half year but I can’t believe I am doing this.

The idea came to my mind at the end of 2016, I wanted to find a work abroad. I started to search job, I had many interviews, but I started to think about it and I just became sad because I have to work in all of my life. The time before/after work not too much, the weekend is too short, and I have only 21 days’ holiday in a year, that is not too much.

This was when the idea of travelling came to my mind. I talked about my plans to my family and I started to planning the trip around April of 2017.

I was thinking through which cities/ countries I want to visit, for how long, and I wanted to make a route plan. But I had to realize soon I can’t plan the whole trip so I just pick the first city (Barcelona) and a way to go (south) and I will figure out everything else during the travel.

I wanted to reduce my costs so I had to explore my options. The best way is the volunteer work. I was a volunteer in Budapest too, so I am familiar with this type of work. (I had been working at the editorial office of Fedél Nélkül for a half year. It’s a newspaper, and the editors are homeless people). And I can work different position in this way, and they give my accommodations for just a few hours of work /day (and at some places they give food also).

I had two jobs during the summer because I wanted to save more money. I couldn’t imagine how much money should I save for this trip.

I bought the plane ticket at the end of July, and I started to close my things. I gave my resignation at the beginning of August, and I ended the contract of my apartment.

I didn’t have to work in the last month, I was just managing the things for the travel (papers, vaccines, etc.). I also moved out from my apartment at the last weekend.

Then I packed my every necessary thing into a suitcase (it’s just 75L, you can imagine…) and that’s all, I just went to a world tour.
